FINAL PROJECT (INDIVIDUAL)

Form manipulation & spatial design

Designing a space for the user or client, ONE (1) character from the movie "INSIDE OUT," is the task at hand. Based on the students' interpretations and results, the created space should embody and reflect the user's or client's characteristics, behaviors, and habits.

SPATIAL DESIGN – FORM MANIPULATION

  1. The concept, strategy, topic, and aim should represent the abilities and information learned through Projects 1 and 2 - design elements, design principles, ergonomics, scale, proportion, form, and space manipulation.

  2. To explore the spatial design, spatial values, and atmosphere, the design must make use of regular or irregular geometric shapes and forms.

  3. Only organic shapes made from regular circles should be used; however, very little use of organic lines, shapes, or forms is permitted with the tutor's permission during consultation.

  4. The design should not be literal or depict anything that could be considered an object, for example.

  5. Use composition, design concepts, colour theory, and design elements to create something as interesting as possible (and to meet the assessment criteria).

  6. Design the FINAL MODEL within the specified parameters of (30 cm H x 15 cm W x 15 cm L) at a scale of 1:100.

NOTES

I have watched the Inside Out movie and pointed out every details of Fear character. I found out that Fear character is based on a raw nerve so I did researches about neuron since it relates with raw nerve and made it as my concept.

My lecturer has agreed with my concept and wanted me to proceed with the concept.

When I got the assignment brief, I did researches about everything related to that character since I do not want to waste my time and it is because the submission requirements for this project are heavy and I do not want to get stressed with it. I was able to put theories into practice by learning back all the spatial theories so that I could apply it appropriately.

This project is the beginning of my Architecture life which I have learned about basic Architecture knowledges. I am sure that these knowledges would help me in the future and even in my next semester which is Degree year. I am grateful that I could survive from all of the works and I understood the basics since basic knowledges are important in this course.

My lecturer told me things that I needed to improve for my models. I had to change and add some of the areas such as Pantry, Play and Movie area. It was challenging for me since I wanted to make it creative but in a good manner. The lecture also helped me in tutorial class and gave me ideas to make my models have functional reasons.
