PROJECT 2 (GROUP)
DESIGN PRINCIPLES
In order to introduce and define the design principle of architecture and design in exploiting and producing order in an architectural composition and spatial arrangement, Project 2 is intended to be a continuation of Project 1. Order refers to a condition in which each component of a whole is appropriately put with regard to other parts and to its purpose in order to achieve a harmonic arrangement, rather than just geometric regularity.
The form used in this project should be the extraction of the shape from one of the patterns each individual group member in Project 1 developed. Project 1 serves as a continuation from Project 1, where students are introduced to the components of design.
Students are asked to construct TWO (2) smaller models (10cm x 10cm x 10cm each) as a group to put their knowledge of design concepts into practice. After finishing the series, students must combine several design ideas to create a maximum hybrid final model with dimensions of 50 cm (L) x 50 cm (W) x 50 cm (H) in order to explore various aspects of form and space.
DESIGN PRINCIPLES
• BALANCE
• RHYTHM
• EMPHASIS
• MOVEMENT
• VARIETY #
• CONTRAST
• UNITY
• HIERARCHY
I chose Variety as my design principle since I think I could pull the principle really well.
MATERIALITY
Make use of the materials from given list for model making – satay/bamboo sticks, balsa wood, grey model board, white modeling board, brown modeling board, black cardboard, foam board, coloured paper, plastic, textured/patterned paper, polystyrene

SKETCHES
I proposed the sketches but it did not go well because it covers some parts which I should have removed it to show internal parts.
My lecturer mentioned that I should remove the curve parts since it does not look good from the top view.
I created new sketches of my mock-up models since I do not like the outcome of the first sketches using organic lines and varieties of shapes.

MOCK-UP 1
MOCK-UP 2
I had to change the color of organic lines from white to pink so that pink colour can represent lines.
My lecturer commented that I have to replaced some of the shapes and removed the zig zag lines in some angles.
FINAL MODEL
This is one of the designs that me and my group did for our final model.

REFLECTION
At first, I thought it was gonna be hard for me to communicate with my groupmates since I was the only female in the group. But, I think my friendly self helped me to communicate with them and they also gave a comfortable environments. At the end, we created bonds and became close with each other. We cooperated really well in doing works because all members understood the briefs and points of this projects.
Me and my groupmates had a quite challenging time in making our final model design since we wanted to combine everything together. Every members think about how could we combine it nicely and not making it odd. After lots of sketches, we have decided to combine ideas and produce one final design in which the design was used for our final model design.
All members listened to the instructions that was given by the leader really well. My group leader has divided the works fairly so that the outcome will be nice and neat. The model finished just for 2 days so this shows that cooperation can help the works to finish faster. Every members were focusing on their works but at the same time we had fun by making jokes and laughing so that we would not feel so stressful with the workloads.
